Philosophy

Fundamental network facilities are committed to delivering quality wound care to patients with a variety of comprehensive medical needs. The loss of skin integrity can severely affect the physiological, psychological, social and financial well being of the individual suffering from acute or chronic debilitation. Pressure ulcers and delayed wound healing are major causes of morbidity in patients already compromised by an acute or chronic illness, accident or injury.

Treatment Categories

Wound management services may encompass the following treatment categories:

  • Wound infection and IV therapy (including MRSA)
  • Stage III and IV ulcers
  • Complex stage II pressure ulcers
  • Amputation site and prosthetic wounds
  • Postoperative skin flaps
  • Abdominal wounds
  • Other chronic wounds

  • Nutritional analysis and control by staff-registered dietician
  • Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), G-Tube, J-Tube
  • Counseling program directed by Staff MSW
  • Hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
  • Intensive diebetic care
  • Physical/occupational/speech therapies
  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Anticoagulant therapy
  • Laboratory services available 24 hours a day
  • Superficial debridement, electrical stimulation, and hydrotherapy
  • Chemical debridement
  • Mechanical debridement
  • Electric modalities (including ultrasound)
  • Consult by a Certified Enterostomal Therapy Nurse (CETN)
  • Aggressive skin deficit assessment and intervention
  • Aggressive therapeutic dressing management
