Our surgical recovery services are designed for persons coping with the effects of trauma, chronic disease, or other disabling conditions. Patients and families are assisted in establishing and attaining realistic goals for achieving maximum independence. Treatment plans and length of stay are individualized according to each patient's specific needs and response to therapy. Throughout the day, depending on the patient's tolerance level, an intense therapy regimen is conducted on an individual basis and is augmented by structured group activities. The entire environment is supportive of patient growth and encourages safe risk-taking and attainment of goals. Education for the patient and family is individually structured, including a clear and thorough understanding of the parameters of rehabilitation and the effects of disability.
