Fundamental network facilities are committed to delivering quality infectious disease care and rehabilitative
services to patients of all ages with complex but stable medical and nursing care needs. Comprehensive services
focus on the total needs of each patient. The integration of superior clinical, education, and support services
makes a significant difference in the care of individuals with an infectious disease. To promote optimal outcomes,
a plan of care is established with the patient and family.
Treatment Categories
Infectious disease services cover a wide spectrum of diagnoses and treatment
categories, which include:
- TB of all body systems (Note: patients with pulmonary TB may not be admitted in most locations
until no longer contagious)
- MRSA/VRE and other antibiotic-resistant microorganisms
- New and recurrent urinary tract infections
- HIV/AIDS
- Blood stream infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
Services
Infectious disease and IV therapy patients may receive the following services:
- Antibiotic therapy and other appropriate treatments
- Nutrition/TPN
- Anticoagulant therapy
- Laboratory services as appropriate
- Intravenous therapy
- Terminal care
